A Message From John Thrower A Time for Singing O come let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. Psalm 95: 1-2 The pies are baking; the aroma of the turkey fills the house. The smell of coffee and nutmeg thrill the senses with the upcoming feast of Thanksgiving. If your house is like ours, (and it probably is) there is a great noise of rushing about with preparations and getting the family ready to head out door to the host family's house. I know that I will be regularly reminding everyone of the time (“it is now 12:00 PM”) and of what time ("we are walking out the door at 1:30!") we will be leaving the house. I would like to say that I always use a sweet encouraging voice but I cannot. Too many times I bark it out as the time gets closer and that only makes everyone tense, myself included. |

A word from Johnny Thrower |
|
November is a time for many things. The leaves start falling, Christmas is right around the corner and people start putting up their decorations. But the best thing that comes in November is Thanksgiving. This is the time to give thanks for many things - your friends, your family, Salvation, your church, your home, your husband or wife. So before November is over why don't you just stop what you are doing and thank God for all the things you have to be thankful for. Count your blessings! |
